Machuca

Hi! I am Pedro Machuca, the boy of the movie Machuca and now I will tell you what have happened with me after the coup d’état.

This period was too difficult for my family, because we do not have any place where we could live; we did not have a house since the militaries destroyed our shanty town. My father drank more and more and a night militaries found him on the street and arrested him. We never knew what happened with him. So my mother and mi neighbor (Sandra’s father) took care to my sister and me.  

Sandra’s father felt too sadness about her die and he thought that he must die instead of Sandra, but my mom make him understand that he must to live because we needed him a lot, and for this reason he came out ahead. He was like a father for my sister and me.

We lived in other shanty town on the south of this country because we wanted to forget what happened. I went to other school, a public school and I never knew about Gonzalo anymore. Sometimes I remember him because I feel that he was a real friend for Sandra and me, but he does not live in the same world of me. For this reason we could not be friends anymore.

When I was 18 years old I left my mother house and I came back to Santiago because I wanted to study law at the university, it is difficult for me since I did not have enough money for have a place where I live, but I have luck because I knew a good friend and his mother allow me live in their house.  So, I could study.

When I was at university I knew a wonderful woman who now is my wife, I have three children with her.

Nowadays I live with my wife my mother who has 70 years old and one son, my other sons are married and live with their families.

Dangerous Mind

Chapter 1 - My dog ate it.

The title of this character means that many students say  some excuses because they do not do their homework. On this charapter a poor students called  Raul promises to do an effort for be a better student. The reason for this promise is because the teacher, Miss johnons, helps him providing money, and Raul felt that it was the most extraordinary sign that a person had done for him. Then Raul became one of the better students on his class. So, the tittle of this character '' My dog ate it ''  means that if you do not say excuses and face your responsibilities, you can improve in yours studies or job.

Chapter 2 - Okie Dokie, Artichokie.

This title show us how some students do not respect teachers. Other teacher advised to Miss Jonhsons and tell her a story about his firs day of class in his life. Teacher was talking about a subject and a student is not interested in the class, the theacher said her that she must pay attention and she say '' Oki Doki Artichokie'', the teacher was ungry and suspended her for three days. Studentd do not spoke with him during the rest of the period.

Chapter 3-   Fire in my heart.

Here we can see the ilusion of the teacher for her students can be a better persons. Because at the first time they do not pay attention in her classes and she felt too frustated because she felt that her students won't learn anything. So, when she achieved get the atention of the students she was exited because only in this moment she was theaching for first time to those problematic teenagers.


Chapter 4- George shouldn't of shot his homeboy

This is a comment that students say about a story that they are reading. At first time they do not want to read this story because they think that it is bored, but the theacher could do that the students feel interested about the story. Teacher feels happy although the students do no know, they are learning with this story

The Tell-Tale Heart

Interesting information about Edgar Allan Poe.

Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston on 1809.
First Edgar was fiveteen he loves poetry, but thwn, on 1835 his writter's carreer starts to blossom. Near this year, Edgar felt in love with his thirteen years old cousin Virginia.
Then Edgar Allan Poe was an editor of Messenger, and his career like a writter became to grow.
On 1845 the youg Edgar's wife died for consumption. After her die, Edgar drank and he fell in a depression.
Edgar died at the age of 40 on 1849 in Baltimore. the reasons of his die are unknown but many people think that it was for his alcoholism.

3. The man became to visit the old man's room in the nigths, and with a lantern he illuminated the old man's eye.
4. On the eigth night the man hit the side when he opened the lantern and it did a loud noise.
5. The old man wake up.
6. The old man was fear.
7. The man listen a sound of fear of the old man.
8. The man opened the lantern.
9. The old man's eye was open.
10.The man listened the old man's heart.
11.The sound was increasingly slow.
12.The man pulled up for the bed to the old man.
13.The old man dead.
14.The man cut the legs, arms and head of the old man.

16.They asked to the man about the sound.

18.The man litened a low sound like a o'clock in his head.

The Conflict, climax and resolution of the story.

The confict was that a man does not like the eye of an old man because this eye resembles a bird's eye. The man cannot live thinking about the old man's eye.
The climax was when the old man die, whis moment was the most tense of the story, and the man achieved his purpose.
the resolution was when policemen arrive to the man home, and the man strar to be paranoic, then he confess his crime. In this resolution we can see the compunction and the guilt of the man. Also at the moment he confess, we know that the man will pay for his crime.

O. Henry's Biography

O. Henry was born on September 11, 1862 in Greensboro, North Carolina. His real name was William Sydney Porter and his only education was with his aunt called Lina.
Then, when he was twenty years old, he went to Textas for impove his health, then he worked in a sheep ranche, later he worke at the First National Bank os Austin, and was in this place where he became to use the name O. Hemry.
He lived on Austin for three years with tha family of Joseph Harrell.
In 1887 O. Henry worked as a draftman in a General Land Offce. In this year he married and began to writte freelance scketches, and a few years later he founded a humorous weekly that is The Rolling Stone magazine at the present time.
In 1896 O. Hemry was accused for embezzler bank founds when he worked at the Bank of Austin. At the moment he knew it, he  fled  with his family to New Orleans, then to Homduras, but his wife had serious health problems and they returned to Texas.
O. Henry's wife died, then William was prisoned in Coplumbus for five years, was is this place where he writte his short stories about adventures in Texas and Central America, this stories were so popular.
when he left the prision he went to New York and ten years later he died.
O. Henry published aroud of three hundred on short stories and is the favorite stories writter of many people. Some of his stiries are '' The gift of the magi'', "The Reformation of Calliope'', ''The Hiding of Black Bill'', and others.

Hi! How are you? I think that you are not very well, you should be affected, only few people have seen a men without head, but I must confess that I have seen him too. He lives in my neighborhood and you must to now that he isn´t a bad person, he is sad, because when he was a child he doesn't have any friend since he was ugly. When he arrived to school, his classmates were scary. That's why he decided to cut his head.
The big problem is that now day by day less people want to stay with him because they aren't use to talk with people without head.
I hope that you understand it and decide to talk with him because he needs a friend.

My holydays

In this summer I left my parents' hause and now I live with my boyfiend in a beautiful home. Also I worked in a Call Center. I love this job because it is so relaxed, the problem was that on February I must pay full ticket to go, so I left this job.
I went to the beach only one day, but it was fantastic, I has lunch in a restaurant, I walked near the beach with my boyfriend and then we bouthg some thing. I loved this day because it was different.
Basically, my holidays were buy things for my new home.
